Aminophylline Injection is indicated for acute exacerbations, reversible airway obstruction in asthma, & COPD. It is nonselective phosphodiesterase inhibitor which works by increasing intracellular cAMP and activating PKA. This injection is administered via intravenous route and is known to have ability to reduce inflammation & innate immunity. Aminophylline has molecular formula C16H24N10O4 with molar mass of 420.427 g/mol. Aminophylline Injection has elimination half life of about 7 to 9 hours with 60% of protein binding ability. It also causes bronchodilation and stimulates cardiac and central nervous systems in order to exert its curative effects.
